THEOS-2A, a 100 kg satellite class, co-develop by Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) and Surrey Satellite Technology Limited (SSTL). The satellite is capable of capturing high-resolution imagery and footage which is perfectly fit for disaster monitoring, agriculture, and urban planning applications. Furthermore, this mission offers a first-ever end-to-end satellite development and technology know-how transferring to Thai people aiming for building a space ecosystem and capability in Thailand.
This program also includes an in-country manufacturer promoting scheme and a space infrastructure development program that will pave a way for Thai-made space technology and activity in the future which is now successfully proven and received an enormous attraction and create a space technology awareness among Thai society.

The Theos-2A project focus on the transfer of knowledge to enable Thai engineers to design, manufacture, integrate, and test similar satellites in Thailand in the future. Thai engineers involve the program for 4 years with training and mentoring taking place both in the UK at SSTL’s Guildford facility, and in GISTDA Space Krenovation Park Thailand.

Assembly Integration and Testing Center (AIT) is one of the country’s aerospace industry infrastructures which is in the Space Inspirium at Sriracha District, Chonburi. With its modernized design to support the development of production, as well as build, assemble and test satellites, particularly a small satellite (10-500 kg weight) under the THEOS-2 project, which is successfully established.
Furthermore, AIT also opens its door to welcome private and educational sectors in the space-related industry in Thailand and the ASEAN region to explore various test equipment within the center while expecting this opportunity will inspire creative and innovative perspectives for the future of space development. The center consists of several testing equipment such as Cleanroom (storage room, loading room, and integration area), Thermal Cycling, Mass Property Measurement, Vibration Test, Thermal Vacuum Chamber, and so on.
